Philippines on the mapNonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is working on invitation by several Mindanaon civil society organisation in Mindanao, Philippines since May 2007. A team of six international civilian peace-keepers is deployed in Maguindanao province (covering Datu Piang, Midsayap and Shariff Aguak) and Sulu province (covering Jolo and surrounding areas). The main Coordination/Field office is situated in Cotabato City, Mindanao.
Mindanao island in the PhilippinesThe International Governing Councl of NP approved a project expansion proposal during the Nairobi Conference in September 2007 and endorsed to increase the international staff from 5 to up to 29 for a period of 3 to 4 years as necessary funds become available.
Nonviolent Peaceforce is officially registered in Philippines through Security and Exchange Commission, Manila.
